Follow-up list
Before the end of each workday, it pulls three things out of your email: what you promised, what others promised you, and what got no reply, with drafts for anything that needs a nudge.
Who it's for: People who forget what they promised the moment things get busy, and never get round to chasing emails nobody answered.
What it does:
- Every weekday at 5 p.m. it goes through the emails you sent and received in the last 7 days.
- It lists three kinds of things: what you promised to do and by when, what others promised you but haven't delivered, and emails you sent that have had no reply for 3 working days.
- For anything that needs a nudge, it writes a draft follow-up for you to look over. If there's nothing new, it leaves you alone.
- It won't send, delete or archive anything, and it stops when you tell it to.
Why this one: Muse's App Store description says it "manages email," sets reminders and follows up with people so plans and deadlines don't slip, and that it keeps going after you close the app and lets you know when something needs your attention. This one only has it make the list and write drafts.
Keep in mind: If there are senders whose emails you'd rather it didn't read, tell it to skip them the first time.
Copy for your Muse
Every weekday at 5 p.m. (in my time zone), go through the emails I sent and received in the last 7 days and list three kinds of things: what I promised to do and by when, what someone promised me but hasn't delivered yet, and emails I sent that have had no reply for 3 working days. For the ones that need a nudge, write a draft follow-up email for me to see. If there's nothing new, no need to tell me. What to do: only read my inbox, and write the list and draft follow-ups for me to see. What not to do: do not send any email or message for me; do not delete, archive or change any email. When to stop: stop when I say “stop the follow-up list”.
